Horse cargo at Deauville Normandy Airport
Each year, Deauville Normandy Airport receives around one hundred horses (5 in 2014 and 90 in 2018) which can be divided into two categories:
- Horses from Ireland and England for races held at the DEAUVILLEÂ Racecourse during the summer
- Mares and their foals passing through our hub returning to local studs after foaling in Anglo-Saxon countries or on the American continent.
Deauville Airport has been authorised as a Border Inspection Post for the equine industry for receiving horses from non-Schengen countries by the Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations (former veterinary services) since early July 2013.
Deauville Airport has:
- A checkpoint and a temporary equine transit area comprising 10 boxes
- A horse access ramp for aircraft types from B 737 to A 310
